My birth philosophy
As your Birth Doula, it is my job to provide evidence based information to you and your partner. My mission is to provide guidance, support, and direction for a safe, fulfilling birth experience.
I aim to take the thinking out of your Birth. There will be moments of vulnerability, weakness and strength. I will be present and attentive through all the stages of birth providing physical, mental, and emotional support.
I will listen with compassion and tenderness. I will serve you and give you my hand and heart. I will believe in you.
I recognize that birth is a sacred event. I will honor and protect the mother’s journey ensuring she is heard, supported and feels safe.
My birth philosophy is that God created every women to withstand childbirth. Birth is a normal, natural, and healthy process. The women's body knows exactly what to do to bring the baby earth side. The baby knows exactly what to do to get earth side. Birth needs to be treated as a sacred event for mom and baby as they go through this journey working together to bloom into the new life ahead of them.
I believe birth can happen peacefully at home. I believe there can be minimal interventions at a hospital birth and for it to go peaceful as well. Providing the mother with information to make the best informed decision they best believe in is what is important.
The confidence in a women to give birth is diminished or enhanced by each and every person who gives her care during pregnancy and while she gives birth. Every women should have the opportunity to have a joyous birth experience. She should have her birth wishes granted and respected. Have the access to all information not just one side.
She should feel nurtured, secure and that her emotional well-being is respected. She should have the access to the full range of options that are available as in birthing sites, caregivers, practices and all their philosophies regarding birth. She should be given up-to-date information about the risks and benefits of all procedures, drugs and suggested tests during pregnancy and birth.
At the end, the mother should receive the nurtured care and support she deserves through the most vulnerable, yet sacred time as she blooms into motherhood.
